- The more we share, the more we learn

To be continued....

There are some working standards that I believe in and try to practice in my personal career. While some of them are based on my personal resolutions or research styles, I believe that the rest of them are global standards, independent of culture, nationality, or religion. So, if you are in a class that I teach or you are interested in working with me, I am committed in respecting these issues and mutually expect my students to work under similar standards (at least for the items that we all agree upon their generality).

The list is by no means complete or static. I will try to revise and update it once in a while, as I change myself! Therefore, I am always open to discussions about these issues. Please feel free to come by my office or contact me by email for discussing about them.

Research Philosophy

- Methods should be as simple as possible, as complex as necessary. This is my interpretation of parsimony

- I believe in both science and meta-science; but I understand their borders and hierarchical levels. For me, everything is somehow alive and talking; but I never seek a proof for this belief under a microscope (see Masaru Emoto's Messages from Water as a counter example). When I'm working at the physical level, I respect its tools and methodologies; that's how science has blossomed. Anyway, this is one of my open thoughts and I never rule-out the possibility of having mixed-level research methodologies; but the current scientific methodology doesn't seem to have this potential.

Publication

- Publication is an important part of research, not to be postponed to the end of it (just because there is no end for research). But I don't believe in publication-oriented research. I think it ruins a research!

- I only publish when I have something new and convincing. It can be a small contribution, but it should be new and be derived via a scientific methodology
